I've had a lot late nights recently..
… I remember You upon my bed, and meditate on You in the watches of the night;
for You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I will sing for joy.
My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
Psalm 63:6-8
Where is my hope?
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
Psalm 62:5-8
Yes.

The Occupy Movement
I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again. This is my minimal understanding of the situation:
I always imagine the occupy movement as a bunch of kids playing Monopoly, where someone is inevitably winning… and then everyone else starts whining and wants to start a new game.
I mean seriously?

“If I throw out a boathook from the boat and catch hold of the shore and pull, do I pull the shore to me, or do I pull myself to the shore? Prayer is not pulling God to my will, but the aligning of my will to the will of God.”

by all natural respects, every hole in the fence is there to stay. but JESUS CHRIST makes the fence NEW again day by day, and every pain, every heartache, every scar of yesteryear is washed away!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

if Grace is an ocean..
Late night poorly written pondering:
I believe it is the design of man to be consumed. We are meant to be drowned in waves of passion. Now the sea in which we’re engulfed is an entirely different story. Do we become wrapped up in ourselves? That is, our own sadness? Love? Needs - physical, emotional, whatever? Anger? Greed? Pride? Lust? After a while we’ll realize the water...

10DTPC: Day 10
[Day 10]: Do you see to believe or believe to see?
I do both. To a degree, we must do both. What I see, I will tend to believe. However, I choose to believe so I can see. I mean how can you really see something if you start without believing it?

10DTPC: Day 9
[Day 09]: Why was is that in a lot of different cultures the men always used to come first and never the women?
I don’t understand how this question is phrased exactly, or how it is really profound at all. But anyways, most cultures are male dominated so it would make sense that historically men did as they pleased and women were taught to be passive and submissive.

10DTPC: Day 8
[Day 08]: At what point are we ‘good enough?’
I think this varies for different people, but I would say it’s fair to think “good enough” is accomplishing a task in completeness or numerical equality to the degree where failure or shortfall does not occur. Like repaying favor for favor.
However, thinking about being good enough at a particular pursuit is a little different. At...

10DTPC: Day 7
[Day 07]: Why do we say “I’m sorry” when a person passes away? What exactly are we sorry for?
I gotta stop doing these so late, the whole thing comes out so incoherent. Sorry!
Well.. there’s more than one definition of sorry. It doesn’t just mean something along the lines of “regretful.” Like when you might hear “you’re one sorry little man.”...

10DTPC: Day 6
[Day 06]: Give your 20 favorite songs - why do you like each one?
Man this is tough, I’ll just say 20 of my favorite songs, not necessarily my top 20. This is probably going to pop out mostly Christian music because I’ve spent the last couple of days writing chord charts for quite a few songs. In no particular order, whatever comes off the top of my head:
Running - AMP: This song...

10DTPC: Day 5
[Day 05]: Why does religion bring about so much war?
The implication of this question is pretty insulting. Is religion really the scapegoat for the faults of man? Even if it is a “driving force,” do we blame the ideal? It’s not logical.
It’d be like saying, “why do sports create so many douche bags?” You don’t blame sports for the wrongs of the...

10DTPC: Day 4
[Day 04]: Can insanity bring on more creativity?
HAHA. Yes, it can bring out unadulterated creativity. However, creativity without sanity is pretty useless if you ask me. I mean you need some degree of mental composure to follow through in expressing creativity right? My mind sort of jumps to artists or writers, they create their work while on the brink of insanity… then they go insane...

10DTPC: Day 3
[Day 03]: Which is a stronger emotion - anger or love?
Man I’m tired… I hope this blog turns out alright. In the future, I may or may not stand by what I type here.
This is a preetttyyyy oddly worded question. I’m hesitant to address the difference between anger and love through such a limiting looking glass as “emotion.” I believe anger and love are a bit more...

10DTPC: Day 2
[Day 02]: What is the difference between existence and essence?
Wow, this sounds like a straight up test question from philosophy 101 or something…
So I’ll start out with what each is. Essence is who we are, or what/who the noun in question fundamentally is. The essence constitutes identity. It’s a pretty difficult thing to explain… Existence is easier to grasp....

10DTPC: Day 1
[Day 01]: Is revenge sometimes justified?
The initial and most basic instinct of mine would say “no.” However, this doesn’t really have as simple an answer as that. Hopefully the following comes out coherently, it’s pretty late:
First we must define what we mean by “revenge” and “justified.” Assuming revenge is roughly defined as “to...
